HMBis a substance that has been used in bodybuilding for a long time. It is a metabolite of the amino acid leucine, one of the three branched chain amino acids known as BCAA. A small part of leucine in the human body is naturally converted to HMB. We get HMB in small amounts from some foods, such as some types of fish meat or citrus fruits. An effective way to increase the amount of HMB in the body and thus the synthesis of leucine from it is its intake in the form of a dietary supplement.
